Recognised schemes
Third-party verified.
Organic
USDA NOP, EU Organic and JAS-certified estates for tea, spice and coconut. Certificates are checked at seller verification and re-verified on renewal.
Rainforest Alliance
Estates certified for forest, soil and biodiversity practices — common on highland tea gardens and mid-country spice growers.
Fairtrade
Producer co-operatives certified for minimum pricing, community premium and safe working conditions — most visible on smallholder tea and coconut.
How we verify a claim
A badge only after the paperwork.
- Seller uploads the current certificate and issuer contact during onboarding.
- Our team checks the certificate number against the issuing body's public registry.
- Certificate expiry is tracked — the badge is removed automatically when a certificate lapses.
- Buyers can request a copy of the certificate from any storefront before ordering samples.
On smallholders
Certified isn't the whole story.
Many excellent Ceylon producers are too small to carry the cost of a scheme audit. Where a storefront isn't certified but follows the same practice, we let the exporter say so in their own words — clearly labelled as a producer statement, not a verified badge.
