Seller Terms & Conditions
The rules that apply to Sri Lankan exporters listing products, responding to inquiries and using exporter features.
What changed: Initial published version.
1. Introduction
These Seller Terms & Conditions ("Seller Terms") govern your use of Serendib Trade ("the Platform") as an exporter or seller.
2. Seller eligibility
You must be a lawfully constituted business entitled to trade and, where required, to export the goods you list. You must have authority to act for the business you register.
3. Business verification
You may be asked to provide business registration details, export documentation and other evidence to obtain verification status. Verification is a trust signal and is not an endorsement, guarantee or certification of your goods.
4. Accurate business and product information
Listings, grades, specifications, certifications, minimum order quantities, lead times and pricing indications must be accurate, current and capable of being substantiated.
5. Export responsibilities
You are responsible for complying with Sri Lankan export requirements and the import requirements of the destination market, including licensing, labelling and documentation.
6. Product compliance
Listed goods must comply with applicable safety, food, phytosanitary and labelling requirements. Prohibited or restricted goods must not be listed.
7. Certificates and documents
Where you present certificates or test reports, they must be genuine, current and relate to the goods offered. Falsified documents will result in removal and may result in termination.
8. Pricing and availability
Prices and availability shown on the Platform are indicative unless you state otherwise. Keep listings updated and deactivate listings that are no longer available.
9. Buyer communications
Respond to inquiries professionally and within a reasonable time. Contact details obtained through the Platform may be used only for the sourcing conversation to which they relate.
10. Fulfilment responsibilities
Any contract of sale is concluded directly between you and the buyer. You are responsible for fulfilment, quality, packing, documentation and shipment as agreed with the buyer.
11. Prohibited products and activities
You must not list illegal, counterfeit, restricted or misrepresented goods. The Acceptable Use Policy applies in full.
12. Intellectual property
You confirm that you own or are licensed to use all text, images and marks you upload, and you grant Serendib Trade a non-exclusive licence to display them on the Platform for the purpose of operating the marketplace.
13. Disputes
Buyer complaints should be addressed promptly and in good faith. The Dispute & Complaint Policy describes how Serendib Trade may assist.
14. Suspension and termination
We may unpublish listings or suspend accounts that breach these Seller Terms, the Marketplace Rules or applicable law.
15. Platform role and limitations
Serendib Trade provides listing, discovery and communication tools. We do not act as exporter, agent, inspector or guarantor of any transaction unless expressly agreed in writing.
16. Changes to these terms
New versions may be published. Where a change is material, you will be asked to review and accept it before continuing to use exporter features.
17. Governing law
Governing law and jurisdiction: [to be confirmed by legal counsel].
These documents are operational drafts prepared for the Serendib Trade platform and require review by qualified legal counsel before being relied upon.
